Ioana has been attracted to medicine since she was a child. There aren’t many people who dream of becoming doctors early in their childhood and keep that desire alive all the way to adulthood.
Besides her passion for the human body, she also showed interest in the public health, getting involved in various voluntary campaigns, during her six years as a medical student. She held various presentations in high schools, on a wide range of topics such as sex education, cervix cancer, and Hpv, while also getting involved in donation campaigns.
She used to be the assistant coordinator, and later, the full coordinator of the “Smokefreedays” anti-smoking project.
She has improved her communication and people skills, her task prioritisation skills and her project management skills by participating in the following personal development training sessions: Presentation Skills, Time Management, Public Speaking, Project Management, Project Development and Organisational Management.
Currently, she is an obstetrics – gynaecology resident at the Sfantul Ioan Emergency Hospital – the Bucur Maternity Clinic.
“I think that real medicine has to be done with passion and total commitment. A good doctor must show empathy towards his/her patients and he/she must now how to listen to them. A warm smile can change a prognosis and insure treatment compliance”
