Even if we talk about Covid, quarantine, restrictions, my advice is to never miss a suspended workout.

A versatile workout for any space

If you have access to a gym or the possibility to adapt the free space in your home using, for example, a solid door, a sturdy hook screwed into a wall or ceiling, a bar, or a tree branch in the yard, you can perform an excellent workout for both the upper and lower body using suspension training straps.

A technique created by special forces

Suspension training was developed by a department of the U.S. Navy SEAL special forces due to the need for a small-sized, easily transportable, and efficient tool for movement when a gym was not available. For women who cannot dedicate much time to exercise or have limited options to go to a gym, suspension training can be a solution so they don’t give up their fitness session.

Various types of suspended appliances

There are several types of suspension training devices: TRX – which stands for “Total Body Resistance Exercise,” Wayflex – which combines suspension training with bands or other accessories.

Regardless of the model you choose, suspension training has the following qualities:

Safe – you can do it on your own or with a personal trainer (in person or online). If you feel that the exercise intensity is too high, you can move away from the anchor point of the straps to make the exercise easier.
Customizable – you can adapt the training to your fitness level. You can easily adjust the training by changing the distance from the anchor point and the difficulty level of the exercises (e.g., single-leg squat – the more challenging variation, or regular squat – the simpler variation).
Convenient – you can train in a gym, at home, or outdoors. Suspension ropes are designed to be used in almost any environment. All you need is a safe and sturdy anchor point (e.g., a solid door, a tree, a sturdy swing).

Versatile – you can train your entire body and perform a variety of workouts, including cardio and toning. Suspension training uses body weight and gravity to develop strength and endurance. There’s no need to change weights; you can switch from one exercise to another quickly and seamlessly, without wasting time between sets. You can focus solely on strength training and achieve a scientifically proven workout, similar to standard weight training.
By performing suspended training, you develop muscular strength and endurance. You can combine toning exercises with the Tabata Protocol or perform an anaerobic routine to achieve an excellent cardio workout.

The benefits of suspension training

  • Training the entire body: Unlike simple bodyweight exercises, which are quite limited, with the help of suspension straps, you can work on each muscle group more easily and efficiently.
  • Building muscle mass: Suspension training, being an unstable environment, activates the core area of the body simultaneously with other muscle groups. The instability of suspension training forces the entire body to work, unlike isolated exercises.
  • Burning calories and reducing fat

Maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle

To have a workout session that helps burn calories quickly and increase the metabolic rate, you can either perform a cardio routine in the first half of the workout and toning exercises in the second half, or alternate them within the same suspended training session.

By doing suspended training, you can work on all muscle groups, perform a cardio workout, and maintain good physical condition.

Ambiţia depaşirii limitelor trupului şi ale spiritului prin exerciţiu fizic şi autoexigenţa au îndreptat-o pe Maria Bendriş spre sport înca de la varsta de 14 ani, continua determinare purtând-o dupa mai bine de un deceniu dedicat mişcarii şi disciplinei spre câştigarea Campionatului Naţional 2012 secţiunea Bodyfitness la categoria 1.63. Întâia recunoaştere a Mariei ca sportiv de performanţa a venit în 2008, anul afilierii sale la Clubul Sportiv Farul, prin ocuparea locului IV la aceeaşi categorie în cadrul Campionatului Naţional de Culturism, Fitness, Bodyfitness, Bikini, Bodybuilding Clasic. Respectul pentru sanatate si dorinţa unei întelegeri profunde a corpului uman au determinat-o sa urmeze Facultatea de Educaţie Fizica şi Sport în cadrul Universitaţii Ecologice din Bucureşti, specializare completata de absolvirea Facultaţii de Kinetoterapie din cadrul Universitaţii Spiru Haret. 
Convingerea în puterea mentoratului, perfectata doar în interiorul unei echipe unite de excelenţa, etica şi pasiune pentru om şi sport, a calauzit-o pe Maria spre continuarea pregatirii prin studii masterale în Managementul Activitaţilor de Educaţie Fizica şi Sport din cadrul Universitaţii Ecologice din Bucureşti. Pasionata de nutritie si suplimentatie (suplimente sportive) si-a însusit informatiile necesare în Polonia în paralel urmând cursul de personal trainer. Drumul înspre desavârşirea ca sportiv, precum şi experienţa sa de peste şapte ani în coordonarea cursanţilor prin antrenamente şi programe de nutriţie concentrate, au recomandat-o pe Maria spre dedicarea în publicaţii de specialitate a unei serii de materiale editoriale având ca tematica exerciţiile fizice şi nutriţia.
