Sports, in any form, practiced consistently regardless of age, maintain physical and mental health and are an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
Regular physical activity optimizes the functioning of the entire body: improves concentration, creativity, reduces the risk of injury, stimulates blood circulation, digestion, and the body’s ability to use oxygen, strengthens the immune system. Although we generally refer to the physical benefits of sports, as they are visible and quantifiable, in fact, among the most important positive effects are those on the psyche, namely improving self-image, self-confidence, and overall well-being. The most telling evidence of these aspects is found in the testimonials of individuals who have included sports in their routine.

My name is Carmen, I am a proud 54-year-old economist, a mother of two daughters, and I am grateful to be part of the “Get Back to Sports” phenomenon coordinated by the wonderful instructor, Nico Mocanu. I came across the fitness studio by chance six years ago when I saw her advertisement on the street. At that time, I was going through a period of change, and I considered it an opportunity that I couldn’t miss. Since then, my life has truly changed for the better. Nico made everything natural, easy, and the new lifestyle became something normal, beneficial, and truly achievable. I am one of the people who have found the right and beneficial instructor, and I benefit from a wide range of movement types offered by the studio I attend: all the latest fitness trends, aerobic, cardio, as well as the revolutionary movement called Nirvana Fitness.
Since I included physical activity in my routine, everything has improved for me and my health: sleep quality, physical fitness, mood. Recently, I lost 20kg and gave up the multitude of pills I used to take daily for tachycardia, a condition that has improved.
Every morning, I eagerly check my phone to see the class schedule and register. Daily exercise has become natural for me.
I don’t know if I can encompass the positive effects of sports on my overall well-being in just a few words, but one thing is certain: I invite you all to try the “Get Back to Sports” experience at least once, and I assure you that you won’t regret it!

What does sports mean to me?

It is very important in all aspects of my life: health, vitality, physical appearance, well-being, socializing. Sports is the way I prove to myself every day that limits exist only in my mind and that if I truly want, I can achieve anything.

Sports helped me consolidate healthy life principles: discipline, perseverance, ambition, respect for body, mind, and soul. In particular, the training that helps me the most is Nirvana Fitness, which I believe is the most complex and complete combination of disciplines aimed at both physical and mental well-being. In the “Heart Studio,” where I go for daily exercise, we are a small family, and together we overcome any challenges we face. Sports is one of the wonders in our lives that we can access anytime. I am grateful from the bottom of my heart to the instructor, but above all, to my friend Nico, with whom I train and manage to overcome barriers that I never thought I could surpass. Thank you for your professionalism, dedication, availability, and for the way you manage to transmit the love for sports.

My encounter with sports happened late. My career as a university professor involved hours of study, preparation, and scientific research. These rigors in thinking, social practice, and ultimately, strictly professional relationships had become burdensome. Obviously, there were minor health problems due to effort, excessive intellectual work, and sedentary lifestyle.

It was necessary to make a change in my lifestyle, and that’s when Nico, a miracle, appeared.
This happened in 2014, when I was 65 years old. For me, it was a challenge, but since then, without interruption, I continue to be present in the training sessions, either physically or online, and do gymnastics with Nico.

By attending her club, I became a fan of Nirvana Fitness, thus creating another beautiful and healthy addiction.
Addicted to the pleasure of movement!

What did I discover at Nirvana Fitness thanks to the wonderful Nico?
First of all, that the world is beautiful, people feel joy when they spend time together and engage in simple things.
That to have a healthy soul, we must have a healthy body. Simple joy, sports, or serious play offer immense benefits for health.

Through exercise, I solved problems related to triglycerides and blood sugar levels.
Back pain disappeared, I feel lighter, more flexible, and I lost weight. But more importantly, I was able to adapt to a different team, that of young, cheerful, energetic, and kind-hearted girls. I became calmer, rearranged work on a different scale of priorities, learned to love myself, and take better care of myself.

An experience that delighted me, eliminating comparison but providing a sense of happiness, was attending the classes taught by Nico, which also included a young twelfth-grade ballet student. This experience was a challenge for me, as I admired the rhythm and grace with which the student performed the movements, and at the same time, I wanted to keep up with the training. That’s when I realized the benefits of sports on joint mobility and their effect on mental state. These are amazing. Through my profession, I meet friends from France and Switzerland. Traveling and coming into contact with various people, I can affirm that what may seem exceptional to us is normal in these countries—physical activity for seniors, such as gymnastics, rhythmic dancing, hiking, and all sports, is frequently practiced by older women. It’s not a luxury, it’s not an extravagance, it’s normalcy.

Thanks to the wonderful Nico, I feel young, strong, relaxed, and at ease.
I feel that I take on and cope with challenges.

I still have a family, the charming girls, loyal to Nico’s Club in Ploiesti.
We forget daily worries and pressures. Our body and soul blend harmoniously in the warm and enchanting rhythm of Nirvana Fitness.
Nico is the beautiful girl who always shows us a bright outlook on the world.

George and Andreea Apostol – Entrepreneurs

We are George, a 32-year-old entrepreneur, and Andreea, a 31-year-old sales consultant, and we have a child who is almost 7 years old. I made the decision to start exercising because the lack of flexibility started to take its toll after spending long hours at the office. Also, having previously engaged in competitive sports, I was familiar with that post-workout satisfaction and began to miss it. Although Andreea, my wife, had not practiced any sports before, she accompanied me to the fitness studio I chose to go to, and she really enjoyed it. She liked Nico’s style as an instructor, as well as the fact that she instilled in us embracing a lifestyle, not just executing exercises correctly during workouts. As a result of physical activity, both I and my wife felt a decrease in stress levels and negative thoughts. At the end of the workout, we are left with a sense of well-being, feeling rested and clear-minded, even though before the training session, we are usually very tired. We also benefit from a sense of inner peace after the exercise and feel relaxed about the decisions we have to make. We manage to balance our lives by simply breathing correctly and disciplining ourselves, both physically and mentally, thanks to the exercise sessions we include in our routine.

"Drumul meu iÌ‚n lumea sportului a iÌ‚nceput înca din timpul copilăriei, fiind atrasă, si totodata activă, de si în activitățile sportive organizate în cadrul scolii, făcaÌ‚nd parte din echipa de handbal și din cea de atletism. IÌ‚n anul 2009 iÌ‚ncepe povestea Fitness Nico, acela fiind momentul caÌ‚nd am deschis primul studio personalizat din Ploiești, exclusiv pentru femei și copii. La momentul respectiv, eu însami fiind mama unei fetițe de 2 ani, am iÌ‚nțeles importanța unui stil de viață sănătos și activ, ataÌ‚t pentru mamă, caÌ‚t și pentru copil, acestea doua completaÌ‚ndu-se ca un Yin și Yang armonios. După nașterea celui de-al doilea copil am fost nevoită să mă reinventez. Drumul meu sportiv a suferit o modificare si din manager de sală de fitness și organizator de evenimente sportive, am devenit instructor sportiv, format de Federația RomaÌ‚nă Sportul pentru toți. Sunt instructor iÌ‚n diferite arii de dezvoltare și perfecționare sportivă și președinte al asociației IÌ‚ntoarce-te la sport, asociație care are ca misiune promovarea sportului și implicarea comunităților și instituțiilor locale iÌ‚n desfășurarea activităților sportive iÌ‚n beneficiul cetățenilor. Viața de mămica m-a determinat să ma apropii mai mult de copii, astfel ca, iÌ‚n momentul de față, desfășor programe sportive iÌ‚n grădinițe, școli, etc. IÌ‚n zilele noastre sportul este practicat ca disciplina care duce la epuizare, prin exerciții repetitve, chinuitoare și stresante, acestea avaÌ‚nd un impact final negativ asupra sănătății noastre fizice. Dorind să facem o schimbare, am creat viziunea asociației: sportul – o mișcare care facilitează izvorul de energie al fiecăruia. Susținerea și dezvoltarea durabilă prin sport iÌ‚ncepe cu o respirație corectă, diafragmatică, continuaÌ‚nd cu o desfășurare corectă a unor exerciții posturale cheie, iar iÌ‚n final cu exerciții de raÌ‚s, care induc automat starea de relaxare, optimism și iÌ‚ncredere.
