Dance – Art of movement and language of the soul
‘Dance is the music of movement,’ ‘dance is the hidden language of the soul,’ or ‘dance is definitely a sport, and dancers are phenomenal athletes and artists.’
Dance cannot easily be defined, but it is certainly one of the seven arts that can encompass the others perfectly, combining music, expression, and emotion.
Aerobic Dance – Healthy dance in fitness rooms
Thanks to its recognized beneficial effects in the field of medicine, both on physical and mental health, dance has been introduced as a form of movement in fitness studios under the name of Aerobic Dance.
The structure and benefits of the Aerobic Dance Course
The Aerobic Dance class lasts for an hour and blends movement with a good mood. Like any other aerobic or dance class, the Aerobic Dance class is structured in stages. It starts with warm-up, continues with the main part, and ends with a gentle stretching for relaxation, focusing on both the muscular and mental aspects. Aerobic Dance builds upon basic aerobic movements (march, mambo, chacha, knee up, leg curl, v-step, etc.) that each instructor transforms into a choreography incorporating spins and various other elements to make it more interesting and, why not, more complex.
Accessible to everyone – Energy and joy in aerobics rooms
It is important to mention that this type of class attracts many participants. Dance, as a form of movement, is more accessible and can be divided into difficulty levels so that the choreography and teaching approach can be tailored to the participants’ level. The aerobic dance class involves a good mood and a fun atmosphere, which is why it is highly sought after and appreciated in fitness and aerobic studios. Sports and movement, in general, reduce both physical and accumulated mental stress. As it is well-known, things we enjoy create a sense of well-being.
We could say that dance is one of the best methods for emotional release, stress reduction, weight loss, and improving communication between partners.
Benefits of Aerobic Dance
The benefits of this type of movement are numerous, but I will mention the most important ones: dance stimulates weight loss by exerting effort to perform movements that engage multiple muscle groups, it combats depression as the movement to the rhythm of music balances the psyche and eliminates accumulated emotional tensions, and it protects the heart and strengthens the cardiovascular system.
Being a cardio class that involves an increased heart rate, this type of class also improves coordination at the cerebral level by using combinations of movements, a choreographic structure, and the surrounding space, coordinating the efforts of all organs responsible for proper oxygenation of the body. Additionally, dance brings a better awareness of the body, increases self-esteem, slows down the aging process, and enhances reflexes and mental agility.
